Quote(s) of the Day
"I've been struggling so far this season, but I am coming out of it.  I've been trying to pull everything to left instead of taking the ball where it was pitched.  I'm just glad we are facing the Cubs right now.  Those guys are able to break you out of any slump. " - Houston Astros first baseman Bob Watson.

"We are going through a rough time right now.  These guys are going out there and giving all they have to give, but the results just aren't showing up.  I have spoke with Mr. (Cubs owner Philip Knight) Wrigley and while it isn't the start that any of us would have liked, he understands how hard we are working and game me his support.  He called it a 'vote of confidence'." - Chicago Cubs manager Jim Marshall.

Injuries:
3B Ken Reitz (.255, 1 HR, 3 RBI) suffered a herniated disk while making a throw.
He will miss 2-3 weeks and has been placed on the 15-day disabled list.
Recalled 2B Chris Arnold (.176, 2 RBI - AAA) from Triple A Phoenix.
Surprisingly, it looks like Arnold will start at 3B.  Whether or not he hits behind the pitcher remains to bee seen.
